The Third Floor – pages 22-23
The new version of Affinity came out while I was working on these and so I had to take some time to learn the new layout. Good news is that all the features I use are still there, just moved around a bit. Bad news, even though it is free it checks your “free” subscription before you open the program. That makes me worry about what future holds. I’ve been around awhile, and an app getting bought by another company usually means everything will get worse. But so far, the app works great.
Anyway…

I am concerned about Affinity as well. I only learned of its existence this year. So I had high hopes for an Adobe alternative.
I’ve been using Affinity for a few years and have liked it. But, yeah, once a company has been bought their products usually go downhill within a year. And I’m not a big fan of Canva, who have taken over Affinity. Still, maybe it’ll be the exception.
